Thank you so much for your humble honesty! The cry of “help my unbelief” has become the one most repeated in my heart recently. The more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know and the more I trust the more I realize I don’t trust Him nearly enough.

For so long I have allowed other things to become my focus and take my eyes off Jesus. God has shown me that my problem has been unbelief and idolatry. Unbelief in that I truly did not think Jesus could fully satisfy me and idolotry in that I have made other things, others opinions of me, relationships etc., the god of my life. And all to my destruction and misery. Reminds me of the verse that says, “For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters and have hewn out for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water”. However, I have been crying out to Him, like the boy’s father in the new testament who cried out, “help my unbelief!” And God has been faithful. I really do want to taste and see that He is good. His word is true and His love and presence have been my reward and my portion. I want to love Him so much more than I do and THAT has been my prayer everyday.

The Problem of Evil may be a philosophical one but after academia it is still to be dealt with on a personal level.
